Signatures in Wikipedia articles

I recently noticed that the Wikipedia articles’ infoboxes now have an signature field in pages that belong to people. Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton to name a few have their signatures in the infoboxes on their Wikipedia pages. Beats my imagination as to why would you want to have signatures on wikipedia pages. Having these signatures on wikipedia pages can serious implications. Fraudsters could use them to cheat people. Secondly I wonder what are the sources of these signatures. Have the respective people approved that their signatures be put up on a public forum? For me the signature is something private and it should be protected, instead of putting it out and giving fraudsters an opportunity to create menace.
